The Republic of Korea Red Cross Blood Services has been already asking for those who have been overseas within 1 month to postpone blood donation. However, responding to the possible blood-transmissible epidemic of Zika virus in Korea, more requirements are necessary for blood donation. To secure blood safety, for those who have recovered from Zika virus infection, 6 months are required for blood donation after the recovery. Blood donation delay for 1 month is also recommended if donors have had sexual intercourse without condoms with men who have been to affected countries within 2 months. |
